Andy is the real deal. With decades of experience in New Zealand’s wildest places, he brings both technical mastery and magnetic energy to every adventure.

In his 20s, Andy cut his teeth as a climbing guide in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park — leading aspiring alpinists to the summit of New Zealand’s highest and most iconic peak. From there, he joined the elite mountain rescue team before becoming a paramedic on the North Island’s rescue helicopter service, responding to emergencies in some of the country’s most remote backcountry terrain.

Beyond the rope skills and rescue credentials, Andy is a storyteller, a people-person, and a natural leader. His wit, warmth, and calm under pressure create an environment where guests feel both safe and inspired.
